It is recommended that Homeland Security practices constant and consistent training to create awareness of specific security procedures, disaster response plans and other matters such as visual awareness reminders such as posters in their laboratories and other places. These procedures will keep employees alert so that they have the right information on procedures for dealing with cybercrime and therefore be proactive rather than reactive to incidents. Training should be conducted on important occasions, such as the introduction of new employees and when new technology is discovered. Training can take place on the job or outside the work premises. It is important that the necessary training tools and facilities are available when needed to ensure that trainees gain comprehensive knowledge, even if this means being trained in both the theory and the necessary practice.
