Topic > The importance of specialization in education - 718

If a student specializes, it limits their flexibility in the job market and some “skills do not transfer easily” (437). It also causes students to miss out on education that could expand their abilities because their attention is so narrow. These specializations force students to choose a career before they are even adults, and at that age “they don't know much about their interests and abilities” (438). Furthermore, specialization only helps in the first job, but is subsequently based on "actual work experience". If students and parents focus on work experience, they will be attractive to companies and have a good chance of getting work experience
