It's not a joke. Some may not agree because of all the blood and gore, mental beatings, or anything disgusting. Some features are; blood and gore, gross out scenes, death, some sex scenes, a lot more death, a twist usually at the end, foreshadowing who or what the killer is, mental and physical torture, and violence. See? Horror movies don't seem that bad, right? Honestly, there are so many types of horror movies out there, some on Netflix are considered thrillers, but I think not. All horror movies have this terrible suspense that makes you want to vomit because the suspense is real and scary. A couple of scary movies released recently are "The Conjuring 2 and Don't Breathe", some movies can be realistic as they are based on real events. Some people might consider Jaws a horror movie because of all the blood and people being afraid of sharks. Horror films have something about them that makes a person want to watch more of them and dig deeper to find the definitive horror films. Like those based on real events, but contain a lot of blood and violence. People wonder if it actually happened that way and if there was that amount of blood and gore. Horror films and romantic films belong to a completely different universe that should never come
