Tino Martinez grew up as the middle child with an older brother and a younger sister. Studies have shown that middle children work hard, become trusted friends, are ambitious people, and are excellent mediators. One theory holds that middle children learn very early the need to be flexible, as they are often shuttled around to older siblings' activities, and the need to be patient as they must wait for the younger child's needs. Middle children also learn the art of compromise by constantly mediating between older and younger siblings. Tino has used these skills in various areas of his life, starting with the military one. Tino Martinez has held various positions during his working career. His most important position was a military career. He spent ten years on active duty in the Army and eleven years in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. During which he completed a tour in Afghanistan and four tours in Iraq. Tino spent fifteen years in the infantry and for the last six years of his military career he was a truck operator or, in layman's terms, a truck driver. After his military career, Tino transitioned into the information technology field and worked as a helpdesk technician for companies such as RW Baird, United Healthcare, and GE Medical. Tino is currently studying at Gateway for a dual specialization as a Network Specialist and Security Specialist. Analyst. He has two semesters left before he graduates with both Associates degrees. The time and effort it takes to graduate with two degrees is incalculable. There are only a handful of classes that overlap between the two programs of study. This is indicative of Tino's ambitious nature and the arduous work he has put in to achieve success. Tino's strength of mind... at the center of the card... him and his family. However, being a middle child prepared him for an independent life. While many middle children are unintentionally neglected by their parents, they actually benefit from it in the long run. They become more independent, think outside the box, feel less pressure to conform and are more empathetic. Tino was able to make decisions on his own thanks to the skills he learned throughout his life. Tino was able to return to school and thrive. Not many people have the tenacity to start their lives over after putting a lot of time and effort into a previous career. Being a middle child taught him patience; a virtue he is now employing by studying two programs and extending his degree. In all, Tino had to take 45 classes to graduate from both programs of study. A feat to be applauded and celebrated.
