During nursing school this student explains that she was successful during her clinical rotations and in her skills lab, which primarily used a hands-on learning approach. She says that at a young age she realized she was more of a “hands-on” student. During nursing school she was able to retain most of the information she was given when she was able to apply it to a real life event. This student also says she felt more confident while being checked for her skills lab or verbally answering a question than being able to answer a question on an exam. When it came to studying he listened to and recorded lectures from his lectures, read case studies, joined study groups and discussed the material they were to be tested on, as well as the practical procedures in the skills laboratory. He also borrowed materials to practice at home. This nurse once brought home a dissected sheep's brain over the Thanksgiving holiday to study for an exam and to this day, when looking at a cat, you can still visualize specific muscles etc. from his A&P
