I attended John Edwin May's speech on wrestling. I was excited to attend this talk, because growing up I idolized many of the wrestlers on television. I expected to learn some new and interesting facts. Unfortunately there was nothing spectacular about this speech, at least nothing I didn't already know. Although he had some interesting stories, I felt he could have been better organized, used his selling point for us and not himself, and used better eye contact. The speaker did not use a way to attract attention; he introduced himself and began to talk about his topic. Although he ended up using one, about ten minutes into his speech. If he had started his speech with this brilliant idea and setup, I think it would have helped him deliver his speech a little easier. However, the lack of someone to attract attention didn't ruin his speech but it would have really helped him. The manual talks about attracting attention. One way to grab attention should be short and sweet and try to capture the audience's attention easily and keep it simple so as not to overwhelm the audience. (179)The speaker used going to the movies and playing video games as a way to connect it to wrestling. Saying that movies and video games are fake, but people are willing to spend time and money to watch and attend those events, but they continually say they won't go see wrestling, because it's fake and scripted. I tend to agree with his point of view, but I also believe it's because people come out of wrestling and find out that their childhood hero is a hoax. I can't say his topic was a bad choice, why I decided to attend this talk, but I think it could have made it more relevant to the masses. (6...... half of the paper ...... eat, concluded the speech in a positive way and helped me remember other material from the speech. However, in the conclusion, he did not revisit any previous points. conclusion should tie everything together for the listeners and help the audience remember the main points of a speech. The audience usually remembers the last thing they hear, so you have to make it as memorable as possible . although so far it hasn't followed anything I learned during the speech. I especially liked the photos and, after finishing the speech, I spoke to local wrestler Bradley Kirkland and according to him: "Wrestling is not fake. , because you still run the risk of getting hurt." During the speech Mr May continually reiterated that "Wrestling is not fake".."
