Emily drove alone past the vibrant fluorescent lights leading to her house. By then it was pouring rain and even the windshield wipers couldn't go fast enough to allow her to see clearly out the window. She decided whether to pull over, but she didn't want to waste time when she was so close to home. Her phone vibrates, startling her as it is placed on the console. Emily quickly looked down at the screen, noticing that it was her mother texting her. “Are you almost home?” the screen went dark and Emily looked back trying to see through the heavy rain beating against the window. She felt a sharp pain down her side and her head hit the steering wheel and sent it down her back. “Get up, get up.” he repeated in his mind, but the effort was ineffective. His body wasn't reacting. The airbag hits her in the stomach, sending her body back towards the seat, while her head remains resting on the steering wheel. The sound of the horn starts to get weaker and weaker. "Emily...?" he felt his arm tremble. "Emily." the voice was stern and seemed firm against his skull. He opened his eyes, showing the green and yellow outline behind his eyelids. A boy looked at her. "Are you OK?" Emily had no idea who this guy was, or why he was asking her if she was okay. "What?" He looked at his hands, stained with dirt and blood. Her brown hair was full of dead leaves and dirt. “Here, let me take it.” The boy picked her up and started walking. Emily tried to look around but couldn't figure out where she was or where it was taking her. She wanted to scream and scream and slap him, but she couldn't find the strength to do so, and she felt weak as her body lay limp in his arms. The boy laughed: “... middle of paper... She stood up and ran after him through the door. The room was different though, so bright it hurt her eyes. “I'm sorry ma'am, but we can't have you back. He's not answering, I'm sorry." a woman was still crying. A curtain hid the view of the voices, and when he tried to grab her to pull her back his hand managed to get past her. He stepped through the curtain and looked at the bed. Her body lay there, her mother on the floor next to her and two doctors talking to each other in the corner. No more beeps were heard, the room was silent. Emily didn't feel sad or angry, she just felt happy she turned and left the hospital room. And now she knew where she was, what had happened... She died. When she checked her phone, she took her eyes off the road and was hit by a car nearby.
