First paragraph correctThe American Civil War was a war fought in the United States between the Northern states (Union) and the Southern states (Confederacy) from 1861 to 1865, in which The Confederacy was determined to secede from the country as an independent nation. The differentiation between the social structure and economy of the North and the South, particularly with respect to slavery; were the root of conflicts between the colonies that date back nearly 100 years to the Civil War, generations of political plans have failed to triumph over these differences. From the beginning of recorded and known history, slavery was not an issue, it was considered conventional and existed in every colony of the United States. As time went on, slavery slowly faded away in the North because there wasn't much profit or need. At the time, almost all Americans held the same opinion; they thought slavery would disappear forever. Before the war, most of the southern states such as South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana were large producers of various crops, but the main crop was cotton plantations which would be transported North for be transformed into valuable goods (Martin). These plantations needed many workers to plant and harvest cotton because the process was very complex and labor-intensive. At that time, African Americans were shipped to states from European countries and sold at very cheap prices. Slaves were not needed in the North because they did not have as many large farms as the South, and they mainly involved industries and factories. The straw that broke the camel's back, Abraham Lincoln's presidency was a major factor in the Civil War because he was a Northerner, anti-slavery, Southerners thought he had the interests of Northerners and intended to eradicate slavery. They worried about whether Lincoln had the North's best interest; the political power of the South would fall and they would be seriously damaged economically. It is clear that for all causes of war, economics appears to be the key foundation. In the south, slaves were the core of the plantations, without slaves the south would have entered a great depression. Slaves were so important to the Southern economy that they would do anything to prevent slavery from being abolished, even
