One of the main areas of focus is leadership with women in business and the consequences they may face as leaders. The authors' findings show how the linguistic construction of leadership values and offer a perspective on feminist linguistic insights to discuss why so few women advance into leadership roles. Two main linguistic insights emerge from this study. The first is that teams composed only of women tend to express themselves in a competitive way and are not compatible with groups composed only of men. The second link focuses on how female teams interact in a “leader” way. This article raised good points about how to improve communication for both men and women. Gender balance tends to allow members to use broader linguistic business communication, which leads to a more conducive environment for building relationships to enable a more successful workspace. After reading this article I made some good points: In my college experience most groups tended to be made up of more girls, but I have not experienced a group where women are seen as more controlling.
