ObjectivesIn this part of my essay the results of the questionnaire are presented. The purpose of this part is to get a complete picture of people's opinion in relation to vampires and their image. I'm curious to know which vampire people prefer today and which characteristics are best known; the classic type or the modern one. I would also like to know what literary works and films they have heard about vampires and to what extent this knowledge is related to age and gender. This investigation is divided into three parts; the first part contains personal information, the second part is about the interviewee's general knowledge of those literary works, which include vampires and the last part is about ordinary people's opinions and experiences about vampirism. All in all, my goal is to find out; Are the issues presented in the first chapter as serious as is often said? Participants, data and analysis To get an accurate picture, I gave the opportunity to all age groups, who are interested in this topic or would like to express their opinion on vampire literature, to answer the questions. To be honest, the results of the first question, in which I asked the age of the respondents, seem rather surprising to me. Before the survey I expected that mostly teenagers or young adults would open a questionnaire entitled “The influence of vampires on today's society”. However, the youngest respondent was twelve, but the oldest seventy-three. I divided the participants into four age groups. The first group is made up of teenagers, aged between twelve and nineteen. The following group contains young adults between the ages of nineteen and twenty-five. The third age range is between… middle of paper… and not even books. In my opinion this result is disappointing because at least the name Dracula must be part of the basic knowledge. Otherwise, these teenagers completely agree that at least one vampire novel should be mandatory in school, but I'm sure they only associate with modern romantic fantasy books. On the other hand, men tend to be skeptical about this topic. Six out of eight men responded to this survey with negative responses and express how much they despise the vampires of these centuries, but the tone and responses of the other two men interviewed are also neutral. However, they may find themselves in a difficult situation because, according to the adolescent and young adult's responses, the phenomenon of vampirism has increased expectations towards men. Unfortunately it can also cause huge disappointments for young women when they experience real life.
