Figure 1: An eyelid of a normal person and a person with myasthenia gravis (ptosis) Epidemiological information Research was conducted with the aim of collecting and combining all epidemiological data of myasthenia gravis. Studies include myasthenia gravis with acetylcholine and myasthenia gravis with muscle-specific kinase. The studies also included information on incidence rate, prevalence rate, and mortality rate. The researchers then studied the influence of environmental and technical factors on any observed trends or variations. The researchers used multiple sources to calculate estimates of the incidence rate, prevalence rate, and mortality rate. Between 1950 and 2007, 55 studies were conducted and it was concluded that the researchers reported the results and the results show evidence of an increasing frequency of myasthenia gravis with the year of the study.
