Primary and Backup Thinking Styles Introduction – Life Style Inventor (LSI) is a methodology used to measure approximately 12 specific styles of thinking patterns that can help or hinder a person to reach his potential is organized into three general groups as follows: constructive, passive/defensive and aggressive/defensive. The goal of this article is to compare my computer simulated assessment of my personal lifestyle based on the 12 model styles with my personal behavior in real life and be able to find a synergy between the two and work on the style of weak life to be able to reach my personal and professional potential. This article will look at my primary and backup thinking style, the impact on management style, the genesis of personal style, the conclusion and reflection of the entire exercise as it pertains to me and my environment. Primary and backup thinking style: - LSI survey indicated that my primary personal thinking style is conventional style with a percentile score of 93%, while backup is; humanistic-encouraging, dependent and competitive with a 90% percentile rating. Critically examining my investigation with respect to both my primary and backup styles actually has a close manifestation in my life and work, I could attribute the conventional lifestyle I leave today to my family, which was subsequently aggravated by my first employer (Schlumberger Oilfield Services). Schlumberger's slogan has always been "show a low profile"; the low profile is part of the mandatory training you will undergo when you join the company. It is very intriguing to me that conventional people like me strictly adhere and rarely question the established rules and procedures, this character is something interesting and I hope to improve it. Reflecting on the LSI findings, the survey suggested that becoming less conventional can bring reasonable benefits such as freedom to express oneself, creative and innovative approaches to tasks, self-set standards and goals, a strong and more individualized sense of self, the confidence to achieve the my potential and the ability to make my own decision.
