I believe that it is necessary and possible for agriculture to become more sustainable if we want to continue to feed and clothe the world's growing population. Sustainable agriculture is necessary to meet human needs and preserve our environment, and without increasing productivity in agriculture, we cannot reduce the risks of poverty, which will not improve any time soon. The world's population is expected to increase dramatically in the coming years, and with economic expansion will also come an increase in demand for food supplies. Even if resources are inadequate and the effects of food security apply to the way we conduct our agriculture, I think that over time we can still improve farming habits. Keeping up with supply and demand is what we should improve upon our peers. Sustainable agriculture is the production of animal and plant products, food and fiber using methods in which the environment is also protected, public health is preserved, and human communities and animal safety are cared for. Environmental preservation is practiced by raising crops and animals without relying on harsh chemical pesticides and the use of synthetic fertilizers. It is much better for our generation to have sustainable agriculture because growing fruits and vegetables on sustainable farms makes consumption safer for us and also for the surrounding areas. This helps preserve a strong ecosystem and a healthy lifestyle for all humans. In today's agriculture in the United States, we rely on what is the fastest way to get food to family tables. The United States is currently dominated by industrial agriculture, which makes us live in an agroecosystem. A......middle of paper...... jobs in agriculture and decreasing biodiversity. Furthermore, if we do not practice sustainable agriculture, our soil has a greater chance of becoming more vulnerable to drought and floods, possibly increasing the risk of further global warming, and being less resistant to antibiotics and pesticides. Having sustainable agriculture today is vital to the way agriculture is conducted today, and changing to make it more effective is the only way we can continue to clothe and feed our growing global population.
