Topic > Niels Bohr and the atomic theory - 529

Over the years there have been many scientists who have studied the atom and made enormous discoveries. While everyone has been on the right track, until recently Niels Bohr was credited with having the most correct atomic model and electronic mechanics. Coming from a highly educated background, Bohr developed his atomic theory which corrected Rutherford's atomic theory. His discovery had a huge impact on what everyone else thought about the atom and left a very complete and in-depth explanation of the atom. Who was Niels Bohr? Niels Bohr was a Danish physicist who lived from 1885 to 1962. He was the third son of Christian Bohr and Ellen Adler Bohr. He was very close to his brother Harald. He was greatly influenced by his father, who was a professor of physiology at the University of Copenhagen, which Niels later attended. His father often met with scholars, and Bohr was present at most of those meetings. He also attended the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters, which was what first got him interested in the atom. His interest in the atom continued after he did so...
