Topic > Macbeth in William Shakespeare and Osama Bin's Macbeth...

Macbeth is the last one who helped transform himself into the power-hungry animal he is before he was finally defeated. Macbeth allowed himself to be persuaded to kill Duncan; he rationalizes with himself to kill Banquo. It's too ambitious. As soon as the witches utter the prophecy that he would become king, Macbeth becomes jealous. Once this is an option, he realizes how divine it would be to be king. Now Macbeth will do whatever it takes to get there, even if it means suffering terrible consequences. After killing Duncan, Macbeth suffers from being unable to speak. “How they saw me with these executioner's hands, / Listening to their fear. I couldn't say 'Amen'/When they said 'God bless us'” (2.2.38-40). Macbeth cannot speak the sacred words of God; furthermore, this illustrates to the reader how terrible the consequences of this murder are psychologically. Macbeth is also jealous of the prophecy that Banquo receives, which also pushes him to kill Banquo. Immediately after killing Banquo, Macbeth hosts a banquet, where Banquo's place is left empty. Only Macbeth truly knows what happened to Banquo. However, he hallucinates that Banquo is at the table with all the guests when Macbeth says: “Avaunt, and shut my sight! Let the earth hide you./Your bones are without marrow; thy blood is cold;/Thou hast no speculation in those eyes/With which thou gazest” (3.4.113-116). Macbeth sees Banquo at his banquet even after ordering the murder of Banquo and Fleance, Banquo's son. Macbeth cannot believe his eyes, he is shocked at the sight of Banquo and is going mad. Macbeth endures horrific hallucinations, falling into the depths of madness. These two quotes in the play are very important because they highlight how Macbeth has turned into a mon...... middle of paper ......and of him controlling his life. Every person has a monster inside them, some are bigger and some are smaller. Osama Bin Laden had one goal: to maintain power in the Western world. He killed thousands of innocent Americans with his terrorist planes; however, he achieved his goal. People around the world are petrified of another attack; today all airports are subjected to extensive security checks. The Taliban won in a way because they still have power over the world thanks to the fear of terrorists. Osama Bin Laden was a monster who didn't try to reconcile anything he had done and ultimately died. Every person has a monster, like Osama; however, others try to stop it before it gets out of hand. What the reader needs to ascertain is that Macbeth is a monster because he let it control his life, or because he didn't stop when things got out of hand..
