Topic > Alternate ending to Frankenstein - 1306

The monster took his first breath and opened his eyes. Victor was paralyzed by fear of his creature. The creature was not at all what Victor expected; It was absolutely horrible. Victor felt a sense of responsibility as the creature's creator and decided to treat it as if it were a newborn baby. Victor helped the creature take its first steps and carried it to a chair to sit on. “I'll be right back,” Victor told the creature as he went to get her a drink. He showed the creature how to drink and told him that it was called water. Victor continued to point to the cup of water and say "water" until the creature repeated it. Victor spent the rest of the day teaching the creature basic words. Victor was amazed that his creature was capable of learning, let alone learning as quickly as the creature was. The next morning, Victor woke up to the creature standing over him. Victor jumped out of bed and ran out of the room, completely scared. Victor's original thought was that his own creation was trying to kill him in his sleep. Victor peeked around the corner to see what the creature was doing. He saw the creature sitting on his bed looking confused and upset. He approached the creature and the creature in a broken sentence asked for water and food. Victor felt foolish for thinking that his creation would want to kill him. Victor made the creature breakfast and helped him learn to use a fork and knife. Victor couldn't help but laugh when he saw how funny and abnormally large the creature sitting at the table was. After breakfast, Victor decided to take the creature for a walk and show him the world. Victor got the creature out of town before everyone else got up and walked out into... the middle of the newspaper... handed to Frank and Vicki. Victor suggested keeping in touch by choosing certain days for Victor and Henry to go to Vicki and Frank's cottage in the woods. In this alternate final chapter of Frankenstein, Victor does not run away from his problems, but instead decides to face them. and doesn't see them as as big of a problem. He realizes that he must cultivate his creation at the beginning instead of at the end, when it is too late. He accepts the creature and decides to let his closest friend come in and accept the creature too. This chapter includes the gothic and romantic element of the supernatural creatures created by Victor. It also includes the romantic element of love for nature. Frank becomes fascinated by nature during Victor and Frank's walk in the woods, and Frank and Vicki decide to live their life deep in the woods..
