Human trafficking is the modern name for “slavery.” Slavery was something that existed many many years ago but slowly changed over time. Slavery is now under the name of human trafficking which now no longer affects people of color but people of all ages and races and even both sexes. There are many types of human trafficking, such as sex trafficking, forced labor, etc. There are many organizations that would like to put an end to this or even decrease the numbers. Polaris Project is an organization that works more to get laws enacted and enforced and also runs a hotline called the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline. They also offer support and services for people who have been victims. There is also another organization called COSA that helps get out into the world by educating people and raising awareness. They also help victimized girls get health services, housing, social services, etc. Another organization is called Urban Light and it is an organization that helps young males of any age involved in sex trafficking. They noticed that men were being excluded from getting help and rescue and that is what the organization is dedicated to. The Urban Light helps these males get food, shelter, healthcare services and also helps them recreate and start a new life.
