I am a resident of Keti Mir Mohammad Ghumro village of Taluka Kingri in Khairpur district, currently living in Karachi with my immediate family. My 84-year-old father lives in the village with the widows of his two deceased sons, grandchildren and three children, two of whom are married. I work here in Karachi with one of the largest private sector power generation companies in the country in a responsible position. My children study in Karachi at college, university and school levels.Brief information about the villageOur village Keti Mir Mohammad Ghumro is located about 8 km north of Pir Jo Goth in Kutcha area on the left bank of River Indus and is inhabited mainly by us Ghumro for centuries. Our main source of income is agriculture. Although the village has a small population, it is spread over an area of about 3 sq km. The village is unique in that it has an over 100 year old primary school which caters not only to the villagers but also to students from villages close to us. We, as village household heads, have since encouraged the education of village children in contrast to the cliché that village heads rather discourage village children from education. We have had doctors, engineers, professors, lawyers and geniuses in other professional fields in the past thanks to this primary school which continues to build a strong student base for higher education today. Our village and the Ghumro are known for their love of peace and law-abiding nature. Never in the history of this village has a crime occurred and there have never been members of the Ghumro family who sided with or sponsored the crime. The village today is going through the worst period in its history and we look at myself...... middle of paper...... my village every quarter but in this quarter I am forced to stay behind hoping the situation would improve but my hopes are rather fading. Your Honor, this is the time when my old father and other members of my family need me the most in this time of suffering.SOSWe, being far less privileged than the mighty Syed Rashid Shah, can do nothing but knock at the gates of justice but we are forced to stay away from this too because we know it would bring us further wrath. Therefore, considering it the only solution, I chose to write to Your Honor asking him to kindly respond to our SOS and come to our rescue as soon as possible otherwise Syed Rashid Shah Rashdi in connivance with the local Police would have arrested all our citizens creating thus an opportunity for him to take over our land and finally force us to leave our village where we have lived for centuries.
