Culture defines the social forces within a community involving its behavioral conventions, ranging from food preparation techniques to forms of entertainment that hold the community together as music, dance, dating rituals and so on UP. One of the many aspects of culture is religion. Religion defines how community members interpret their role in the universe. Since religious teaching is based on local culture, different religions arise from different cultures. The history of religion is probably as old as the history of the world itself. It is an organized system of beliefs and practices that revolve around or lead to a transcendent spiritual experience. There is no culture in the world that has not practiced some form of religion. Religion involves the spiritual aspect of the human condition, gods and goddesses, the creation of the world, the place of the human being in the world, and each nation has created its own god in its own image and likeness (Keisling). Just as religion defines culture, it also defines one's identity. Religion is part of a person's identity. It is a concept of who we are and who others think we are (Sorrells 11). It's what makes a person different from others. It has the power to give us a sense of purpose that extends beyond ourselves. It connects us with the divine and places us in a story that has been going on long before we took our first breath, and will continue long after we take our last. I was born and raised Catholic by my parents, and I am a strong believer in God. Being Catholic has always been part of my cultural identity. I have an optimistic view of creation and believe that God created everything, including us. I was taught that creation represents Vai...... in the center of the card ......ction I have towards faith in God. It made me understand that we should not question the beliefs of others and that their religion and experiences are still valid. Misconception about someone's religion is one of the barriers of communication. To be hostile to this religion would be very unpleasant because I think what I experienced was a lovely treasure that I will always cherish and remember with joy. The Iglesia ni Cristo inspired me to dedicate most of my free time to God and serve Him. The way the minister encoded God's message may be different from ours, but what is more important is how we decode it and apply it in our daily lives. It was a pleasure that I was given the opportunity to witness the religion that feels the strongest emotion and deepest passion towards God. Religion, however, gives the person a sense of identity and belonging.
