Interpersonal communications can be a very important part of a person's professional success. Information technology is an industry that relies on certain areas of communication. Wendy, the person I interviewed, emphasized the importance of people in her industry being up to date (educated) on the constant changes. Communication, acquiring communication and interpersonal skills is once again an “easier said than done” skill for any profession. Communication is such an essential skill that it could be considered a talent instinctively given to certain people. This refers to emotional intelligence, the understanding of one's feelings which includes self-awareness, empathy, self-confidence and self-control. We discussed if there were any communication problems and what would happen. He said: “If an employee understands a message delivered to them by their manager and ends up behaving the way they thought the manager intended, that could lead to a real catastrophe.” Constantly encounters conflicts and communication barriers. Communications and interpersonal interactions are moving so fast in the IT industry; sometimes it's difficult to stay up to date on changes in technology, compliance and competition. This sector is based on conscious listening. If you are fully present, you are less likely to make mistakes, which ultimately increases the trust of your customers. Terminology (words) is very important in the IT industry. This is an industry that uses acronyms as a way to communicate without saying all the words verbally. Writing an algorithm is the initial stage of developing a program for a company. It is defined as; a logical sequence of steps to solve a problem, often written as a flowchart, that can be translated into a calculation... middle of paper... nt/analyst. I was not surprised by the course due to my past professional experience. Nor am I surprised by this industry and how Wendy's continues to succeed. Throughout my career I have been effective and non-effective, emotional and non-emotional, I have had satisfying and unsatisfactory relationships, I have listened and not listened, I have had conflict and non-conflict, and I still strive to always do the best I can. I can always improve my communication skills. Depending on the situation and the person(s) will and will have dictated how I communicate, such as when to listen and when to speak. I may not always agree with my colleagues and they may not agree with me; however, I have learned a better way to eliminate conflict.
