Genesis teaches us that in the beginning God spoke everything into existence. The earth was dark and there was nothing. God created the planets, the universe, and everything on it, including light and darkness, and separating them to form day and night (Genesis 1-11). God created the natural world that we leave through creation, all in six days with one day of rest. On the second day God created the sky. On the third day we created earth and plants. On the fourth day he created the celestial bodies, the stars, the sun and the moon. The fifth day consisted of sea creatures and birds. On the sixth day, the land animals, man and woman, were created. Finally on the seventh day, God rested and blesses the day. This quote “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was god. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has already been made (John 1:1-3).” This quote explains what I believe and my view of the world. The natural world was created by God over the course of days; at first there was nothing. We did not evolve from monkeys or animals; God is my creator. I firmly believe in heaven and hell. Genesis 1-11 introduces human identity and human relationships. God created man in his image, a reflection of God, and his purpose in life is to serve God, as God has done for us. Women were created to serve as companions to the man of God. People are servants of God, so when we interact with people it should always reflect God. Everything we do is for God and as God. God loved us and God loves us he served. Therefore, as children of God, it is our duty to love others and serve others. We were all created in the image of God. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and cleave to his wife: a… middle of paper… and they continued to reproduce. The last form of civilization arrived at the Tower of Babel, at this point everyone spoke the same language, it made people confuse and speak different languages and then spread them all over the world (Bible Gateway). Civilization influences my worldview, because it shows that everyone is a sinner, God can destroy the world and we will continue to sin. Genesis 1-11 shows that our civilization needs a savior, this affects my worldview and biblical view because other people do not recognize what God has done and that we need him and all he has done to us.
