In this article, Dowsett uses the analogy of a bicycle to discuss its connotation when a white person is bombarded with the term white privilege. Finally , the author is trying to reach out to white people so that the next time someone tries to use the term "white privilege" you remember that they aren't calling you racist, they just want you to try to empathize with how scary it is to be one sometimes on a bicycle. One point I notice that the author is discussing is how the system allows discrimination in analogy to how the driver has more “privileges” than the motorcyclist. An example is how the ride is done for both car than for bicycles, but when a car comes whizzing by without realizing how scary it can endanger a cyclist, they only see the road from the privileged perspective of a car. Another example used by the author is snowy weather . The fact that when it snows the snow in the street is pushed onto the cycle path without realizing that the cyclist exists. Another topic that caught my attention while reading the article is how Dowsett paints a picture of a beautiful person
