The chivalric code of loyalty is reflected in the modern book Breaking Dawn and the modern film A Bug's Life. In Breaking Dawn, loyalty is reflected through Jacob Black who remains faithful to his wolf pack, the Cullens, Bella, and his true love, Renesmee. Loyalty is the feeling of devotion one has for one's country, creed, family and friends (dictionary.com). It means staying true to what you believe. In King Arthur's time, knights followed strict rules of chivalry, honor, courage and loyalty. Jacob Black is a Quileute Indian who is part of a legend. Jacob is a half-human who transforms into a wolf during moments of anger and fighting. He can only be a wolf during most of his young adult life. During this time, he must track down vampires with the rest of his pack as these wolves were sent to do this job. However, he forces himself to stay away from the Cullens, the vampires, because of his love and loyalty towards Bella. This love sours when Edward Cullen is forced to turn his wife Bella into a vampire. Jacob hates Edward for what he did to Bella and in a sudden decision decides that Edward should be killed. He is so furious that he doesn't even bother to find out Edward's reasons for doing this act. Jacob goes to the Cullen house, where his whole life is about to change. "The earth's gravity no longer tied me to where I was. It was the child that kept me here now. Renesmee" (Breaking Dawn,shmoop.com).
