Timothy Krajcir was born in Mahoney City, Pennsylvania in 1944 to unmarried parents. Timothy's mother was not physically abusive; however, he emotionally neglected young Timothy. He later began to obsess over his mother and claimed that his mother pranced around the house in sheer negligee and lingerie; those images would serve as fodder for his initial unhealthy fantasies. At the age of eleven Krajcir claimed to feel a strong attraction to his mother and at the age of fourteen this manifested as sexually aggressive behavior. Krajcir began by peering at his mother's scantily clad form; even though from adolescence he began to stare at his neighbors and the women he saw in their courtyards or driveways. As the years passed, he resorted to voyeurism and exhibitionism when he struggled to keep from raping or killing. Almost every murder he committed was preceded by the exposure of someone, usually a group of women or by spying on a potential victim. (DiCosmo, 2009, pp 21-24) In 1963 he was incarcerated at the Menard Psychiatric Center for his first rape. There he met an inmate named Todd Hopkins. Hopkins was a dangerous man and a convicted murderer. They established a relationship and Krajcir being only eighteen years old, Hopkins gave him directions. Something that never left Krajcir's mind was something Hopkins said. Hopkins said, "Tim, if you ever do anything, don't leave any witnesses." (DiCosmo, 2009, pp. 42) These words remained imprinted on Krajcir for the last thirteen years and would be the driving force that pushed him to kill his victims. Although his first two victims would not have seen his face due to the blue bandana he had tied around his face. Krajcir really had no reason to kill any of his victims. 1977 in...... middle of paper ...... deviations while others suffer from severe schizophrenia. Dennis Rader is the closest serial killer that could resemble Timothy Krajcir in that they stalked their victims, broke into their homes, tied them up, and strangled their victims. Although Timothy Krajcir just strangled his victims, he also shot some of them. However they both had no good reason to kill any of the people they did. Dennis Rader killed all the family members while Timothy did not. Daniel Camargo Barbosa raped and killed women in Colombia, but when he was finished he mutilated their bodies with a machete. The only body Timothy mutilated was Mildred's and he only cut off her nipple. Another rapist and murderer is Pedro Alonso Lopez of Columbia, who raped and murdered girls. Pedro and Timothy both strangled their victims to death. However, Pedro did not shoot any of his victims.
