Topic > Is Lying Morally Permissible Essay - 1717

First, lying corrupts the most important quality of a human being, such as his ability to make free and rational choices. When we lie to someone we distort scenarios and facts. People make moral and rational decisions based on what they are told. When someone is told something that they are not aware is a lie, that individual still makes a moral decision based on it. That moral decision may not actually be the right moral decision for the situation because the truth has not been made available. Every lie someone tells contradicts the part of another that gives them moral value. This means that even if someone thinks they are making a moral decision, they are contradicted by the fact that the moral decision was made based on the facts of a lie they were telling.
