Critical Analysis: Shirking Work: The War on HookyThe article for “Shirking: the War on Hooky” explains the difficult decision a manager faces when faced with employee abuse colleagues' absenteeism at work. Additionally, the article evaluates how companies cause billions of dollars when employees take advantage of sick day policies and decrease the productivity of the company's workforce. The key questions we need to keep in mind are are sick days generated by absenteeism, also are they part of any orientation benefits package for new or old employees when they start working for an employer? The document will describe the different approaches that the manager can use to reduce absenteeism among colleagues. In the way HR should work with managers to put in place a strong ill policy that represents the needs and goals of the company. Corporate Workforce Today: Today the corporate work environment expects a very high demand from managers and workers who look overseas for job performance to keep themselves more motivated to carry out their tasks. First, the manager must meet the goals and productivity of the executive-level manager to maintain the success of the company. Reading the test book states that Organization means people working together to achieve common goals, goals that can also evaluate absenteeism problems in the workforce. From my personal experience working in human resources when doing orientation it is not stated whether the employee automatically earns these benefits or whether they accrue on a monthly basis. Additionally, one of my recommendations is to institute a three-month probationary period before any new employee can call in sick.
