If members are in an environment where they can't do everything they need to do, not much progress will be made. Members will be less productive if they fail to excel at what they do, thus slowing down the company. It is the leader's job to make sure everyone feels comfortable in their environment and to do everything possible to maintain this level of comfort. This will not only make members more productive, but it will make them feel more important. People feel more important to an organization when they feel like an individual and not simply another member of the group. Everyone has different opinions and ideas about how they think the organization should go. “By reaching out to all members of [the leader's] team, [the leader can] get the benefit of a variety of perspectives.” (Cockrel 41). It is critical that leaders listen to these different ideas because the organization could change for the better. If leaders don't listen to every individual, members may feel like their voice doesn't matter to how the organization works
