People need to worry more in developing countries. Since some countries lack medical error assessment structures, the outcome is always catastrophic. In Africa, for example, many countries do not report data correctly. In the Republic of Guinea there are no official data on medical errors. In those countries there is no risk of doctors losing their licenses because there are no structures to monitor their errors. In the United States, medical errors are a major concern; Error reporting systems are developed. Mistakes in the United States can cause doctors to have their licenses suspended and/or revoked. There are different types of medical errors. Such errors include, but are not limited to: Treating the wrong patient; administer the wrong medicine to the patient; do surgery on the wrong part of the body; extraction of the wrong tooth; forgot a surgical item inside the body (gauge in the abdomen for example); fake doctors in Africa.
