Topic > Lifestyle Inventory (LSI): Self-Analysis - 1597

IntroductionThe Lifestyle Inventory (LSI) is a diagnostic self-assessment tool that measures 12 key thinking patterns, or "styles". LSI promotes change and performance improvement by increasing personal understanding of one's own thinking and behavior. By responding to these 240 inventory items, individuals learn exactly where they should focus their development efforts, without ambiguity or guesswork. The results of the self-description are plotted on a circular graph for easy visualization of how the individual thinks and behaves across the 12 LSI styles. This profile serves as a personalized assessment of development needs, drawing attention to the individual's strengths and areas in need of improvement. Part I: Personal Thinking Styles (Primary, Backup, Limiting) According to my LSI profile it shows that my primary style is achievement. My backup thinking style depends. My backup style was followed closely by avoidance. Refer to Attachment "A". The LSI. My limiting style seems to be twofold. addiction and avoidance. This illustrates that these two “limit” my self-actualization and achievement rates. I don't find myself being overly defensive or aggressive when dealing with people. I tend to listen more to what people have to say. This result was not new to me. Avoidance and dependency are evidently the areas that keep me from excelling. According to information provided by LSI, when your achievement score is higher and humanistic and affiliative encouragement scores are lower, concern about task achievement will decrease the need for concern about others. Evidently this imbalance is reducing my overall effectiveness. When I put him under the microscope, I find that this character... in the center of the card... the achiever I have to lead by example and encourage people to give their best effort in every project. Although I am limitedly self-taught, I must learn to communicate more realistic performance standards/goals and promote contributions from teammates. As I continue to study Leadership and Organizational Behavior, I hope to change my thinking style towards personal effectiveness. Limit my passive/dependent styles and get more constructive styles. The Human Synergistics International Lifestyle Inventory was a good wake-up call and offered me a way to change your profile. The Change Challenge section in the LSI will allow me to document an I -improvement plan using my LSI profile. With this, my change suggestions and self-improvement plan will provide me with a guided direction to properly focus my personal development goals on the path I need to follow.
