Many studies show that high-quality child care helps children raised in poverty develop skills that enable better education, employment, and income (Adelman). It would help reduce poverty if more parents invested money in high-quality child care, because children would be able to learn the skills they need to know to get a good education. In an article titled “9 Ways to Reduce Poverty,” Larry Adelman argued that “investments in infrastructure – repairing old bridges, building public transportation, converting to clean energy sources – and investments in vital services like schools, childcare and eldercare generate both benefits and jobs.” Investments in a community's key buildings and facilities would help create employment opportunities, which could benefit people in poverty by providing them with the opportunity to find work. Poverty reduction would benefit the economy and the people who suffer from it
