However this is not entirely true, although the difference may be very subtle, they are slightly different. People management is defined as the "administrative discipline of hiring and developing employees so that they become more valuable to the organization" (www.bd... ). One of the defining characteristics of personnel management is the tendency for personnel practices such as recruitment, payroll and training to be structurally and procedurally separated from each other (…….). Human resources management (HRM) is defined as “Administrative activities related to the planning, recruitment, selection, orientation, training, evaluation of human resources….” (www.bd....). The HRM of an organization is responsible for the transfer of the "overall" management of the workforce in the organization, i.e. the coordination of the "activities" of the staff.
