Martha and the other members of the Ingram family have all been donors and/or directors of various family foundations and donor-assisted private funds over the years. Currently, most of the Ingram family relies on donor-advised funds administered through the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CMFT) for their philanthropy. The transition to Donor Advised Funds presents numerous advantages compared to those of a family foundation; not least the possibility of making large donations anonymously and not revealing information about assets and donations. Because of this information, particularly about the family's recent donations, remains scarce. However, there is some documented information about the Ingram family's donations. The Ingram Charitable Fund The Ingram family's largest and best-known (public) foundation is the Ingram Charitable Fund. The foundation was founded by E. Bronson and Martha Ingram in 1991. Martha and her sons, John and Orrin are currently the trustees of the foundation along with Nicholas Zeppos, chancellor of Vanderbilt University. The foundation's mission is "primarily to support Vanderbilt University and provide financial support to other publicly supported charities", and its charter specifies that it must dedicate 40% of its income and assets to Vanderbilt University. At the time of the foundation's founding, the Ingram family had already had a 50-year relationship with Vanderbilt. Bronson Ingram's father, Orrin Henry Ingram, served on the University board from 1952 to 1963. Three of Ingram's four children graduated from Vanderbilt; David B. Ingram and John R. Ingram earned MBAs from the Owen Graduate School of Management and Orrin H. Ingram earned his Bachelor of Arts from the College of Arts... middle of paper... .American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), College of Charleston Foundation, Centerstone and Vanderbilt University. Lisa Hooker and John Palmer Campbell Unfortunately of all the members of the Ingram family's inner circle, Lisa Campbell is the one whose philanthropy remains the most more unknown. However, she served on many boards, so it is likely that she and her husband made a number of significant gifts; most likely through a donor-assisted fund. We know that they have collectively donated more than $100,000 to the Ensworth School and have made donations of $10,000 or more to Centerstone, Ducks Unlimited and the McCallie School. There were also numerous donations of “unspecified amounts” to the Junior League of Nashville, the Cheekwood Botanic Garden and Museum of Art, the Nashville Alliance for Public Education and Vanderbilt University..
