IntroductionThe increasing globalization of the world requires greater interaction between people from different cultures, beliefs and backgrounds than ever before. People no longer live and work in an insular market; they are now part of a global economy with competition from almost every continent. For this reason, profit and non-profit organizations need diversity to become more creative and open to change. Maximizing and capitalizing on diversity in the workplace has become an important issue for management today (UCSF). Workplace diversity refers to having a variety of different types of people working together within a workplace. Employees' sex, race, religion, sexual preference, physical appearance, familial or marital status, education, culture, personality or tenure form the basis of diversity in the workplace. Diversity is quickly becoming a very important necessity in today's business world. Diversity isn't just about how people perceive themselves, but also about how they perceive others. These perceptions influence their interactions. For a diverse assortment of employees to function effectively as an organization, HR professionals must effectively address issues such as communication, adaptability, and change. Diversity will increase significantly in the coming years.
