Topic > Immigration Controversies in Contemporary America

Immigration to America Every single person in the world is different from each other. The way one is or acts is one way to distinguish one person from another, but there is something that can distinguish us from others and that is our race. The United States is made up of many races, most of which are white, black or African, and Hispanic or Latino. Many of these people arrived as immigrants and some became citizens. Those who did not and remained illegally became a problem in the United States. There were already so many of them, so the government stepped in and decided that they would only hire skilled workers. But why let in only those who are qualified or who bring an advantage to the United States? There are many who are not qualified, but perhaps they bring something different. There are people who don't like immigrants and others who simply don't care. Even when it comes to choosing a president, people want to hear everything he has planned for the United States, but many also want to hear what he has to say about immigration issues. Today, candidate Donald Trump has a strong argument on immigration issues. Going more against Mexico, Trump says Mexico should pay to build a better wall on the border and that he wants to deport all illegal immigrants from Mexico to Mexico. He also says that it is Mexico's fault that he is in the situation he is in and that is why many come to the United States. Mexicans and Latinos make up a large portion of the United States, and many of these people have grown to hate it. Things like this have a huge impact because if that happened a lot of things would change. Yet many of these immigrants don't have the right to vote, so they don't have the ability to decide things like our next president. Beyond that, many simply don't like it because many of these immigrants are a cost to the United States and take away jobs. This has been a problem since employment rates have declined
