There are many terms and processes in the video game industry. The last term in the class discussion was player action and interaction. Now, from a general point of view the two terms seem similar but have different meanings in the industry. In the following paragraphs let me explain what these terms mean and how they relate to the video game industry. To begin with, interaction is defined as mutual action, effect or influence. When it comes to video games, players feel like they are interactive with the world they reside in. Player interaction can involve different forms such as direct conflict, negotiation, exchange and information. Players involved in direct conflict are mostly engaged in competing against another player. One way to create direct conflict in games is the process called “attacking the leader” in which players combine efforts to weaken a high-ranking player.
