Lamentations Research PaperThe book of Lamentations is a book about the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BC, Jeremiah the Weeping Prophet is the person who wrote this book in the Bible as an eyewitness of The Fall of Jerusalem. Jeremiah was a prophet who was commanded by the Lord to go and tell the people of Jerusalem that it would fall to the Babylonians, because of their sinful ways and worship of false gods. He had to tell them to leave and start over because there was nothing left for them there, and if they stayed they would be killed. Jeremiah became a prophet for this reason, for what he saw and how he saw things in the place of the Lord. When he had a vision from the lord to go to the temple and here is his message. Lamentations is a very important book that shows the power of good and the message that comes from it. The kingdom of Jerusalem is one of the most important kingdoms in the Bible, which is why it was so important when it fell to the Babylonians. The beginning of the book describes firsthand from the prophet Jeremiah the destruction of Jerusalem and how sad a site it is to see. In chapter two of the book Jeremiah talks about how angry the Lord is with his people and how he has brought judgment on the wicked earth. God shows in chapter two how crazy he is and has cut off Israel's power, but in chapter three Jeremiah tells us that he is faithful to us and will restore the land. Even though he is very sad about the capture and destruction of his city, he remembers what the lord told him. Then he explains that the people of the kingdom of Judah and the kingdom of Jerusalem must turn to the Lord and get rid of those false gods. For the love and kindness of that man… middle of paper… amazing and beautiful things he creates for us, we can benefit from those things or share them with people who may not understand this or see it there alive. The last thing I learned is that life can show the worst things, such as death or destruction. For the loss of a job or any bad thing that might happen, we can blame God or we can pray to Him to help you get through difficult times like those. In chapter 4 it talked about how God would still be faithful to them and the kingdom would still be restored and brought back to power. We must be faithful to God even if something bad might happen. Lamentations teach us about difficult times if we don't repent and things can grow. There is a lot of pain in the book, but if you trust God in his plan you go and follow and that's the most important thing.
